@Clifford R Fowles Congrats on taking action. Eddie Miller with Academy Bank is one of my preferred lenders and feel confident he will provide great customer service and offer very competitive rates. He is local here in the Overland Park area....PM for his contact info.

Cheers!

Post: Kansas City - buy in 'burbs or downtown

Hi Judy,

Both could turn out to be good investments. Really depends on your risk tolerance and goals though.

A condo "should" be lower maintenance than a SFH in the burbs, but you will be paying monthly HOA's for a condo. This will affect your monthly cash flow. In my opinion a SFH in a good area will turn out to be a better investment. The KC condo market is very competitive with all the new apartment buildings being developed. Most renters will choose the newest building that offer first time move in specials with newer amenities etc....

In KC, condo's usually take a lot longer to sell than a SFH in a good suburb.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Ray
