I am not implying anything other than some reading i came across. I myself am half Mexican and have a lot of family living in Mexico but facts are facts.

Nice! Wish i was fortunate enough to be able to donate more or significant amounts. Great thing is, i have my first deal under contract and should close before the 31st. Once this happens i will be extremely happy to click on that "Donate" button :D Cheers!

As per the online systems of smaller banks, I assume a lot of them use third party software that is just as robust as the big box banks?

Lastly, what is the best way to find out and pick a credit union?

Yes we offer all of that, if you could pay for it and good for it, we will work with you.

As for building a relationship , for us at least, you should speak with a branch Mgr or straight to the Commercial Lending Mgr. If your serious and have something going on, doors will start to open for you.

Are on line systems are pretty standard like the rest, bill pay, check images, statements and so forth. We wont have all features but most of them.

Well for investing i would get something local, 3 to 5 branches and look for the lowest rates. Inquire on general loan rates and if you find someone who has a big difference in Auto loan and Signature loan rates go there. Lower rates means there hurting for or wanting more business, therefore are quick to jump and make things happen.

Remember, these are my thought and opinions. This does not mean its the smartest or the best way to go about it, once again just my opinions on experience.

Im a Personal Banker at a local Credit Union and tend to see a lot of "high rollers" that have accounts with us. Being Non-Profit and not a huge corporation, we are very lenient on exceptions. We usually can work out new rates for new members with new money and cater to them. Being local you have the advantage of actually being able to build relationships with Board Members, VPs and our CEO. Once that's done you pretty much own it. Only draw back for us is only being local, that's why its always good to have an account with a major bank. If your traveling, most of our Members simply phone in Wire Transfers and get help fairly quickly. You have to remember a Credit Union is run by its Members, they vote in Board Members, they have a say. Were local, small and would rather work with you and make you happy than you be angry and leave. Simply put..we cant afford to loose you like a Bank could, we actually need you. If we were to loose our top 20 members we would be bankrupt within a years time. If a member wants something done and its reasonable we make it happen. Try going to Wells Fargo and demand things, sure they will listen but defiantly have a laugh when you leave.

Remember, these are just my experiences. Take it with a grain of salt. Cheers!

Exactly!

With experience comes confidence and usually that's the people who reply. A lot of us are still in the "learning stage" so might not feel we have much to offer.

At the very least, you have your own current experiences that can be shared with others just starting out. Perhaps it might be easier to create new threads regarding your current experiences, challenges, successes, etc. This gives a chance for other new investors to learn. It also can be a way to solicit advice or spark a suggestion from other investors new and experienced.

We can all learn from each other regardless of where we are at in the investing world. I learn something new everyday.

Those are some good points and suggestions Charles. Will take into consideration in the future.

Its amazing how these people have no shame in doing this. This exact situation happened to a property i have under contract at the moment. Family moved away and could not sell, Squatters came in and trashed the place. Even though it got me the property for a great price i still felt bad for the owners. The world we live in can be unbelievable at times.
