We need one here in California

Who’s starting one here?

I think this subject has been spoken about maybe 2-3months ago. From the looks of it landlords here on this forum don’t mind carrying their tenants for years to come. And I say that because no one seems to bat an eye until it’s happening to them. The only bright side in all this is that alot of economies are opening up my guess would be that courts would too. But then again I wouldn’t be surprised if the city’s step in and claim that tenants are still out of a job that’s why we can’t evict.

Let’s get it going!!! LANDLORDS UNITE🇺🇸

@Umer M. Chaudhry I guess it all depends on the city or state we live in. I heard out in Texas everything is already back to normal If I’m not mistaken. Some states were hit harder from the pandemic others not so bad. All we can do now is just hope for the best.

@Matthew Paul I highly doubt it will take that long. We first have to think about the economy coming back up. For example here in California they are opening back up. Courts open in acouple of weeks here. Now that doesn’t mean anything but little by little everything should be back to normal. My guess would be another month or 2

@Rob Johnson @Nathan Gesner I think the biggest question here is, Do you guys actually think there’s a possibility of it passing the senate or maybe even the president??  I highly doubt it will pass, but then again who knows

@Dennis Tierney I just re-read the bill you are taking about. It states you wouldn’t be able to evict for NON PAYMENT of rent For atleast 12MONTHS. BUT IT ALSO STATES THAT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO NOT PAY YOUR MORTGAGE FOR A YEAR WITHOUT AND PENALTIES😒. I’m sure you can evict for anything else. It also talks about the Cares Act. That’s the bill I was originally referring too. But again everything is opening up. Atleast here in California. Republicans are also stating there is no need for a bill like this since everything is reopening and looking better. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Apparently there’s like 15bills going around then. The one I had read was very similar to this but said it’s up to the landlords if he needs or wants the help. I mean one thing for sure. If this does pass my guess is 60% of landlords will loose their property. Specially with the media telling tenants NOT TO PAY rent. But I doubt it will pass. Donald trump clearly said that bill is DOA

Dennis, if this is the same bill that has been going around on this forum that everyone is freaking about, it clearly states that it’s up to the owner if he wants financial help. If he does want the help he will have to agree on specific terms. Meaning no evictions no rent increases ect.
