Here's some more violence from the left, this time in California. This trend is borderline terrorism and has to stop immediately. I remember my father, telling me stories about the violence in the 60's...he would weep because he knew how dangerous these left wing crazies were. History does repeat itself.

whether or not you agree with the new AZ legislation, it's interesting how the violence from the left got downplayed significantly in most of the media, including FOX. Thousands of Tea Party protests have been conducted in the past year and a half, no violence to speak of (besides a left winger biting the finger of a protester). During these tea parties, the media has just been sitting and waiting for the opportunity to catch a violent act. Now they have some on camera, and what has happened? If this happened to be tea party protesters, it would have got more coverage than Tiger Woods.

great post Rich! I also agree with J Scott...I have bought at significant discount when compared to what the bank bought it for at auction.

another thing to consider....if fishing during the spawn is so bad...why does the DNR allow it? Why do major bass tournaments circits have events during this time of year? These are the same people that care greatly about the fish....because they depend on the fish to thrive.

Like I said, I have found no information that leads me to believe that catching bass on the beds effect their spawing. If you have some information to share, I would be happy to review it and share with my fellow fisherman.
You make it sound like I'm raping fish just to catch a big one. That's very presumptious of you. I can assure you that I do a lot more to preserve and protect the fisheries in my state than most fishermen and non-fishermen alike. In all my years of fishing I have released EVERY SINGLE FISH I HAVE EVER CAUGHT, and I have added a TON more fish to waters than I have ever caught.
Are you a fisherman? Is so, please share your thoughts on this subject.
Do you have any other information to share other than striking out?

This is a hot topic for most bass fishermen. Although there is no real evidence that cathing bass on beds diminishes the spawing ability (that I can find), I find it hard to resist the HUGE females that are in plain sight. I try to only catch one or two, then I leave them alone.
One tactic I use for bass that won't bite (on the bed) is to annoy the smaller male. He'll eventually bite to protect the female. Don't set the hook...wait for him to spit it out, then go right back to the bed on the female. It may take a lot of casts, but eventually the female will think that the male isn't doing his job, and will take over. A whacky-rigged Senko works nicely, a large crankbait, or even a slow rolled spinner bait will also work.
Bluegill is one of the biggest threat to bass eggs, so a blugill colored swim bait could be usefull, too.
What are your thoughts on catching spawing females?

Tom, funny you should mention that. I work for a major insurance company (won't mention the name), but even with my employee discount of 10%, our rates can't been State Farm's rates. Check them out, too. Their claim service, IMO, is top notch as well.

anywho...here are some of Mr Johnson's credentials...
Rep. Johnson practiced civil and criminal law in DeKalb County for twenty-seven (27) years. A staunch supporter of public education, he is a graduate of the District of Columbia Public Schools, Clark College in Atlanta and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University
You would think that someone who is SO educated would be intelligent and able to realize the stupidity in what he was saying. Perhaps big time lawyers and their fancy schools just can't take the stupid out of people. I wonder how much money he spent on education to become intelligent?

Btw, just so we agree on terms, would you agree that not understanding basic concepts of 8th grade science would qualify as under-educated?
I never said that. I said the left needs a lot of help in that area. While I agree that most people should have a basic concept of science, who's to say what is under-educated or not? Each school has different standards.
I do, however, wish that our current administration (start a different thread for lingering Bush complaints) would not use a slight of hand to convince people that he's in favor of offshore drilling. I also pray, every night, that he obtains an 8th grade level of basic economics.

again, you're proving my point. You say you can't buy only made in the US rehab products because you can't find them and they aren't competitively priced. If we made good products at competitive prices...the whole world would be buying our products, including us here in the US.
You see...the root of the problem is not a society that doesn't support our own products. The root problem is the barriers in place to prevent our ability to produce quality, competitively priced products. These barriers include government regulation and unions.
