@Shelley Kleinschmidt I'd suggest looking into ABQREIA and ACRE in town to meet people and get the lay of the land.

Hey @Brett Shank,

Welcome to the Land of Beans & Jerky! It sounds like you'll be getting here just before the summer monsoon. I'm looking for a small multi at the moment, but if I see something like you described in the heights I'll keep you in mind.

Hey, @Tim Greenfield. The issue you're running into is the way you are using the 50% rule and the 1%/2% rule. I'm no expert here, but you aren't likely to get good cashflow so close to (or even below) the 1% mark. Neither of these look like good investment deals to me.

Hey, @Ryan Hebert. This is a cool idea. I haven't actually read the book, so I'm not sure how I would engage in the discussion. What are your thoughts?

@Petr Anisimov

My favorite Carl Sagan quote is "Every kid starts out as a natural-born scientist, and then we beat it out of them. A few trickle through the system with their wonder and enthusiasm for science intact." It's great to hear that you were able to sneak through.

My name is Rob, and I'm relatively new investor in Albuquerque. I currently own and rent a few single-family homes. I am a full-time science teacher and am pretty new to the world of real estate investing.
