just to follow up on that previous post, PG has passed a "temporary" moratorium on new permits for short term rentals (Airbnb etc). Check the article because they mention things like only allowing one unit in a multi family to be used as a short term rental, requiring dedicated parking, etc. as possible changes to the existing ordinance.

Hah, I see your police report, and raise you one visit from the district attorney. 

A couple of months ago we had a phone call and visit from the district attorneys investigator because of our direct mail campaign. Standard mail campaign, just a letter, nothing fancy or out of the ordinary. At a community meeting for seniors an attendee brought up our letter and asked the law enforcement representative if this was some sort of scam to take advantage of the elderly. 

Department policy is that they have to follow up on anything like this that is brought to their attention. So we received a visit from the DA's investigators (two of them!) where we were asked to explain what we do, show business licenses and corporate documents to prove that we're a legitimate business AND a completed contract to demonstrate that we actually  do what we say  we do.

Hey thanks for the invite! It would be great to meet other RE investors in the area (we're in Monterey/Seaside). We plan to attend the event at Beer 30 and will see you all there.

We met with J Martin last night and it was time well spent! J is a friendly, engaging guy with a lot of perspective and interesting experiences. We enjoyed the get together and came away with some new ideas and some the benefit of his input on what we shared. If you have an opportunity to meet with J, definitely do it and I'd recommend you connect with him here. 

Is this still on? Just found out about it via Troy Fisher. We plan to attend unless we hear otherwise.
