I'd say, pick the topic you want to learn about first, then go to the forums here and read all the posts (not just the first page of threads). Lots of free information on BP and you can also seek out the posters for follow up questions.
It's like having 100 Real Estate professors at your fingertips.

Jonathan,
I mistakenly thought you were talking about melissadata, in my original post.
I am using click2mail also, and I find it difficult to construct a postcard with the controls for editing the postcards not being responsive and working properly all the time...

I was donating as I was posting. The money transfer must of gotten frozen in this horribly cold weather I'm in right now.

I'm in Manhattan, and its around 17 degrees today...Matty how about we get an island instead, we can hold annual BP brainstorming sessions on it... and rent it out the rest of the year

Maybe a criteria for being apart of this should be that you must have donated to BP.......

The link above also brings you to some free information they provide...

Tim, Have you sent your postcards out yet? I am still considering whether to send mine out now (during the holiday season) or wait till the first week of Jan. 09

Thanks for the reply Glen,

East Brunswick is in Middlesex County I believe. I went to school right next door (Rutgers) in New Brunswick.

Bergen County is north right by the GW bridge about 45min or so from Middlesex.

What makes you move from sunny Florida to cold NJ? Well anyway, welcome to NJ and if you have any questions about it let me know!

I have a list of Absentee Owners that I want to start targeting through direct mail. However, with the holiday season coming on, I am not sure if I should start now, or wait till after Christmas to start...

Is the holiday season a bad time to START a direct mailing campaign to absentee owners?

I don't personally know of any, but in Tim Ferrise's book "The Four Hour Work Week" he talks about VA's and has some recommendations in there.
That's his website below, he might have information there also...
If you haven't heard of him check out the website, he's all about outsourcing as many tasks as you can to free up time for the tasks that are most important to you.

city-data.com is a free website that offers information such as demographics and it also has links to local forums with discussions about the city.

I also just yesterday came across some free data lookups on melissa data.

http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/index.htm

They offer some general free information such as monthly home sales and demographic information with vacancy rates (it is from the year 2000 however).
I've heard of some other people on here using melissa data, and that's how I came across the website...
