I'd let them out. They've tried to meet you part way and I'd consider doing the same. If the rental market where you are is tight (and they all are), you shouldn't have trouble getting another tenant. Unless I'm in danger of losing the place, I try to put myself in my tenant's position and be kind.

Take a look at this:  https://duluthmn.gov/media/5616/vacation-dwelling-vs-home-share.pdf

The City of Duluth has implemented ordinances in two directions on this.  One classifies a property as strictly VRBO and they have capped the number of those licenses (currently at 66, I believe).  The other is aimed more at someone wanting to rent a portion of their home (while living there).

I'm always up for meeting new people and hearing their stories.  I'll join you.

Kevin, I sent you a message.

If you are thinking it's just for a few days, consider renting a U-Haul truck and parking it in your driveway. Do it mid-month when there is little demand for them.

Hi Matt,

I'm a Realtor in Duluth (originally from the Twin Cities) with a few properties of my own.  If you'd like to chat about the current market over coffee sometime, I'd be happy to.
