That's some pretty advanced advice for a 17 year old. I would recommend you study accounting, real estate, business in school. Focus on savings and learning small pieces of REI.

I would try to save $50-100k and buy a 4 plex once I have confidence in my own ability to repair toilets, paint a room, demo a floor, etc.

 I would say he shouldn't be investing at all into real estate. If its $175k equity thats better, but vague posts worry me about their due diligence beforehand.

I recommend Tiago Title, offices in Plano and Dallas.
