Hey @Thomas Caley I'lol echo the post of listening to podcast & blogs & trying to soak up all you can. One of things I would do is evaluate as many deals as you can with some of the tools via BP & figure out why the numbers work the way they do. Worked for me to help zero in on how to evaluate things & get a strategy. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

@Francis M. His name is @Justin Johnson and he has an account on BP. Not sure if I can mention or not his companies name on a thread but you can find get it from his profile. 

The company I'm doing some investing with in KY does mostly MFR properties and I know the owner has mentioned having a few investors from California. Feel free to reach out if you have interest. I agree with @Anton Ivanov about researching any market you choose though. 

I think several good questions have already been presented Mark Ellis I would also suggest diversifying. Once you have an idea of how involved you would like to be with the investment strategy. (Turn key, long term, short term, SFR, MFR, etc)
