@Zab C.

As @Paul Timmins pointed out, there is a book list on BP (https://www.biggerpockets.com/books). I have been listening to some of them via my audible dot com account, which enables me to utilize commute time. FYI.

Certainly I recommend you to beware of all the materials from there, since they are mainly US oriented, as @Claude Boiron pointed out, although many core ideas applies universally.

@Jamie Parker

I am a beginner, so I won't say much, but just want to point out that LLC can be bypassed (pierced the corporate veil) if legal and financial formality aren't properly maintained. Namely, people will try their best to bypass your legal protection via LLC and get you personally. Here are 2 books I want to recommend FYI.

Rich Dad attorney Gary Sutton's books really helped me get started with all those complex knowledge.

@Zab C.

Welcome. I am new too, so I can only give you my 2 cents.

1. Check out meetup dot com searching for your local real estate meetings (http://www.meetup.com/find/?radius=25&userFreeform...) there are more than 40 hits in Toronto on Real Estate, lucky you.

2. Consider audio books or podcasts. Biggerpockets got tons of free podcasts (https://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/category/...). They are professionaland entertaining. Audio material is perfect for us with daily commute.

3. Consider visiting open houses to build relationship with local realtors and got familiarized with local housing market.

4. Consider starting with this free PDF (https://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investin...).

Hope that helps, and best wishes.

I see. Thanks @Rhett. I didn't think about it. I was just thinking that basement itself serves a perfect tornado shelter.

Is there any potential for walkout basement in Oklahoma City?

I came across a land which has odd terrain, but ideal for designing walkout basement. But I never saw that kind of basement in town. Is there a market for it? If so, how much construction cost will I be looking at for 2 story SFR (1st floor and basement), and will the basement sqft counted in living area sqft?

P.S. the neighborhood is not in high-end area.

Hi @Scott, you might want to check out this post by Ron Harris, where he mentioned MPMEETING and OKREIA. Definitely check them out.

For more, consider here:

In addition, if condition permits, I highly recommend www.audible.com for tons of real estate reads.

Hope that helps.
