Do you think home prices have returned to pre-recession prices?  I heard today that on a national level they have, but what do you think about the Chicago area?

Isn't Zillow in a lawsuit right now because their "zestimates" were so far off it was giving people false impressions about the value of their homes?   No disrespect to you @Account Closed, I completely understand your point and it's a good one, but I try not to trust Zillow.

@Crystal Smith What areas do you think are on the verge of being gentrified? Personally, I always feel like the areas where the most rehabbing is occurring is the next neighborhood for the younger generation to move to.

Hey!  I'd love to discuss the Chicago economy, and how it is going to effect the real estate market.  I believe we are in a period of slow national growth for the next couple years, but that doesn't mean certain areas can't thrive.  What do you think home ownership rates and population rates/decline are going to be?  Are people going to stay in Chicago?  Raise families there?  What's your opinion?!?

I don't believe the revisions will bring the number up.  And where do you see soaring consumer confidence?  The low GDP rate was solely attributed to the retail collapse.  I do believe 2% is a good sustainable rate as well, and I hope we're there, but the fed predicted 3+ and we got 0.7....so when they predict 2 for the year, I am cautious.
