@Shemroy Mccarthy

It all depends on property management. If you set up a good team then you can invest and make money anywhere. I personally like out of state. CT has some great options for mult families. Plus taxes are way less.

@Abel Curiel

For all those able to make it to Long Island LIREIA has a meetup on Tuesday. March 24th. It's a free intro meeting where you can talk about investments with REIA president Melissa Shea. Great learning and free pizza!!!!

@Shemroy Mccarthy

Wholesaling works in our area. As far as buy and holds, best thing to do is look out of state. As far as local meetups I would reccomend LIREIA. Great place to network and meet other local investors.

@Tonye Jack

Hi Tonye. Great to hear you are taking the plunge and investing out of state. It’s so hard to cash flow in our market so you are making a great decision. I have invested in Memphis for the past three years and I have had a good experience for the most part. Best of luck to you!

@Dimitri Fedorov

Hi dimitri and welcome to Bigger Pockets. I also live on Long Island and I have chosen to invest out of state. It’s very important to build your team in an area you look to invest in. Do your homework, especially on property managers,

As far as the deal goes maybe look into partnering with someone who has more experience. Great way to learn while actually investing.

@Frederic Mileo

I’m a Long Island resident and I invest in CT. I love the market and we have had great success with our buy and holds and BRRRs. The multi fam houses are great there, and taxes are 1/3 of what we pay here.

@WILLIAM WELCH

I’m a Long Island investor. I mostly invest out of state for many reasons. I like buy and holds and I find other markets cash flow better then here.

Hey Becky. I met one of my partners at my local REIA. Great place to network and speak with people who have the same mindset as myself.

@Sam Sams

Hi Sam. I am an investor from Long Island. I invest in Hartford and New Haven County. I love the market and the numbers are way better then what I can get in my home market.
