@Thomas S. Which mutual fund are you investing in with such good returns?

@John Mocker oh nice, that’s a good point and I never thought about that. So does this mean that the RC is even more recommended for C class neighborhoods since land isn’t as expensive and cost to replace home may be higher than market value.

@Lori Greene isn’t that what independent insurance agents do though, they shop around. What type of questions should I be asking other than coverage on the policy (DP1 vs DP3)?

@Matt Moylan I would like to add that the only appliances the tenant is using is the stove and dehumidifier (washer & dryer are in the basement not used, just set on a side in a little room). All other appliances are provided by the tenant, so I don’t know if personal property coverage is worth the additional cost. The home is also worth between 80k - 100k but DP3 is only offered if it’s valued at 100K which I’d assume would be much more expensive than DP1. I will get both quotes tomorrow.

@Matt Moylan I will do just that. Do you recommend DP1 or DP3?

Hey, should I consider 2 independent insurance agencies to see which one covers me best and offers the best rate? They’re about located about 30 minutes from rental property and one of them had 4.9 rating from google reviews of 500+ people and the other has a 4.9 rating from google reviews of ~100 people so they’re both pretty good it seems. What do you think? Is it worth getting quotes from both?

@Benjamin Williams you need to build up credit, have at least some cash, and learn A LOT about RE before you even begin. By the time you finish school, you can probably do your house hack. Then when you start working in your career, you’ll have cash to start your investments. That’s my personal recommendation, but ultimately, it depends how much you want to do RE and for what reasons.
