Any investors in the Austin area up for a meet up? It would be casual, no pitches, just getting to know each other, maybe sharing some wins/frustrations, questions, etc?

Thanks @Matthew Hughes. I've used Cashapp along with Paypal, Venmo, etc. but I think I'm at the point where I need some built in record keeping and other features.

I'm trying to decide on a tool to collect rent. I've look into RentRedi and it seems like an ok tool although I've read some complaints. I don't need features like applications and repair requests. I just need a way for tenants to pay easily online/mobile, automatic late fees, and to be able to direct deposit into my accounts. What are you using and do you like it? TIA.

Quote from @Ryan Kelly:
@Chris Seveney here in Austin, we've definitely experienced a spike in inventory because of the higher interest rates. It will take several months for buyers and especially sellers to shift to the new normal. As many have said, a majority of sellers are still hesitant to be more conservative with their list price and price reductions are coming back to pre-pandemic levels. The biggest rise in inventory is from new construction, so the prices will soften faster in the suburbs where the homebuilders are concentrated. A well-priced and updated property can still sell quickly.

I've had this same thought. As a result I won't do a STR in a densely populated area where prices are sky high. There are rural areas where the market isn't the same and STR do just fine.

I know that currently there are owner occupancy requirements for ADU's in San Antonio. I also know that SA affordable housing committees have recommended terminating those requirements. Does anyone know any recent news on this or what source to go to to find any updates? Thanks!
