Post: How Do I Find the Bank?

I was interested in a short-sale that came up on the MLS. Now it's down but I still would like to see it. How do I track down the bank selling this property? I live in Baltimore City.

Thanks Everyone! I've learned a lot. It's just a property we're considering. I'll keep you posted if anything changes.

@Ian Barnes Thanks! I knew the part about owning the property but I didn't know you have 60 days after buying the property and what about the fence-theory??? Is that just a myth? I know someone who has a fence around their yard (they live on two lots) because they didn't want to be taxed for whats in the yard.

@Eric H. Did you ever get the answer to your question? I'm looking for someone in the Baltimore City and Baltimore County area that has some experience with tax assessment. I'm looking at a property that appears to have a weird tax situation and I wanted to know how to approach possibly getting it re-assessed if it would matter at all. I actually would like to know would if a re-assessment is done would it be possible to build a fence around the house to get the assessment match the rest of the houses on the block? I think this house is slightly higher because of there is a garage in the back. I was wondering if maybe @Ned Carey would know?

Thanks! @Ned Carey I'm referring to attempting to get a house at a 10-25% discount and I would like to hold. @Andrew Syrios Thanks! I was definitely starting to over think it. I'll check it out and see what happens.

I live in the Baltimore area and there is a house that's been on the market for over a year. What should I look for when looking at this property?  What questions should I ask? Is offering the Linda McKissack's 10% a good idea or is it premature to be thinking about what to offer?

It's not about whether I can get the loan, it's really just a matter of time. The process has taken such a long time this is where we are.

They haven't given a timeframe but they are one of the factors in the hold up. Between the selling bank's agent sitting on the documents, replacing the 1st 203k consultant hired (which I have to go to small claims court to recoup the fee) and now the underwriter this process has been very discouraging.
