My husband and I are newbies as well and have been so enamored with the BiggerPockets community! I have been devouring all the learning I can between reading the forums, listening to as many podcasts as I can and talking with other like minded individuals as much as possible. I LOVE talking shop to anyone I can! We made it to our first REI Meet-up last week and are totally thrilled with being in a big room full of people that have the same interest and sharing knowledge is so amazing!!

I know exactly what you mean!!  I used to listen to Pandora every day on my way to work and on my way home. NOW all I listen to is Josh and Brandon EVERY SINGLE DAY!! I can't get enough of the education we all get from the Podcasts!! 

I have been devouring all the education I can from Bigger Pockets for the last month. 

I just bought the Rehab and flipping book from J. Scott so I can let you know about it once I get it and start reading but I've read and heard from many how great it is so I'm thoroughly excited to read and learn from it. 

Care to link up and collaborate on education and partnering? I know we are on opposite ends of the US but I know we could collaborate and learn together if you're interested. Send me a personal message if you'd like to exchange contact info and work together on learning all we can.

I'm pretty new at this and in the process of educating myself extensively so I don't have a lot of leads to offer, although I have come across several resources that others have suggested that I thought may at least help you get started in searching out a good vendor. 

Many on here have mentioned yellowletters.com as well as www.postcardmania.com which I was going to check out myself. The founder of Yellow Letters is actually a Real Estate investor as well so there is a lot of "Real Estate" Marketing examples on the site.

Great questions! I am not familiar with with the platforms you mentioned above but I do happened to have used Salesforce extensively for my own needs. I am actually in the process of building my own customized CRM tool with the Salesforce platform for our investment business but the company has excellent and knowledgeable teams that can customize many, many solutions they have available. I am not affiliated with them at all. I'm just a very satisfied user and share my experience whenever I can.

That's great advice @Allende Hernandez! Thank you.  You have a great point about worrying about the buyers when we start finding the good deals.  I've been trying to find somewhere on here the suggested steps to getting the house under contract. Like I'm sure there are forms to use and I'm sure they have been shared or mentioned on BiggerPockets over the years at some point. 

Let me know if you'd like to sync-up and maybe we can share stories and such on Skype or Google Hangouts. We are also working on building our team so we're doing what we can to meet other professionals in our area. We have our first big REI group meeting in a couple of weeks that I'm really looking forward to be able to just meet people and talk shop.

That is awesome Allende! Great job on taking the first step.  My husband and I are pretty new here and I've been reading/listening to everything I can! We were considering going that route soon as well. I wanted to ask you how long have you been working towards investing (education/effort/networking)? Also, have you started compiling a buyers list or did you take other steps as your first step? 

I'm trying to decide the best first step and I thought maybe while looking for the deals, it was important to begin gathering a buyers list but I wasn't completely sure.  

Also, do you have a strategy to measure the success of your DM campaign so you can determine what is getting responses (targeted areas/Types of investment etc).
