Hi Everyone,

I'm new to real estate, and so have no agent or broker connections yet in my area. As I work on developing those, I was looking for properties through the newspaper (let me know if that's one way to find deals).

Now for someone like me starting off, what are some ways I can start looking for some deals? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you Doug and John for the tips. Sounds great! I'll get started right away. BTW I meant to say in my update I was starting off looking for properties for sale through reading the Newspaper. If that's also a good way to look for deals, let me know. Thanks again.

Hi Everyone,

I'm totally new to real estate, and I've started off looking up houses for sale in my county (let me know if this is a good way of looking for deals starting off BTW).

I wanted to know if there's a way to look up how much properties have sold for previously, so then I can understand what kind of offer to make and whether a deal is good or not. Thanks.

Thank you @Paul Timminsand @Zach Kiddfor the incredible recommendations and resources. I will definitely get started in getting educated before getting my feet wet, and will keep my business plan slim and concise.

I won't be able to make that lunch this weekend @Jordan Thibodeau but if there's anything taking place in the month of March let me know and I'll try and make time to attend.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes! :-) I won't be able to attend that summit this weekend but I'll try to make it to something soon. Is there anything coming up in the month of March?

Hi everyone. I'm here to introduce myself. My name is Sheldon, and I live in Sacramento, California.

I'm a newbie when it comes to real estate, but I'm very serious about getting started. In fact, I'll be working on a business plan come next week. I have a idea on the kind of real estate deals I want to do, which include the following:

  • Fix and flips
  • Short Sales
  • Rental Properties
  • Multi-Family Properties
  • Commercial Real Estate

I plan to start out small in my local area (Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, Rocklin, etc.) so that I can get my feet wet. Two of my goals in real estate are helping people find the home of their dreams, and paying off my student loans and credit cards. And again I'm preparing to get started, and so am looking for new connections.

Thanks again and I look forward to networking with all of you!

Sheldon
