Yes I did. I was impressed. Smart guy with a polished performance. You know how it is, he gives you lots of soundbites on subjects but doesn't give any real substance. And that's his job at those things - to get you to buy. He seemed to put a lot of emphasis on choosing your market which I liked but I can't sink $1000 into his system right now. Was hoping his book would go as deep as needed but worried it too is a sell for his bigger package. Any thoughts?

Me again, to add one more question to the one I posted above, Has anyone read the book "Emerging Real Estate Markets" by David Lindahl"?

Hey everyone, I've realized that my local market (CT shoreline and CT in general) isn't the best market to invest in for buy and hold. Finding properties that fit the 2% rule is a joke and even going with the 1% rule is practically non-existant. I'm looking into investing in larger apartment complexes. I found a few threads on researching areas that were basically on where to find data. Not sure exactly what to do with that data. Any help is much appreciated.

Karin, thanks so much for the post. Great to hear from a local via BP! I'm in Guilford so we're not far from each other. I know Sue's not just getting started in real estate but was thinking maybe just getting started launching this new packet of materials. I'm going to a luncheon she's having so I'll get a better read then and will post how it goes. Again, thanks for reaching out.

I think she's just getting started. She's is based here in CT and started her career through CT REIA (She knew all the regulars there). There is an amazing amount of info plus one on one phone conversations every 2 weeks and a 30 day money back guarantee. I was just hoping someone out there would have some personal experience. Thanks so much for taking a look at her site.

Just met Sue Nelson at the CT REIA meeting last night. Her background is much like mine and I felt like I could learn from her style. Her "program" is a bit pricey. Would love to get some feedback before making a decision. I can't find anything about her here on BP. I saw one person ask about her 7 months ago with no luck. Anyone have insights since then?

Thanks so much Karin and Paul, great info here. I'm going to the Hartford REIA in a few weeks and have read the BiggerPockets Ultimate Beginner's Guide. I'm starting my business plan although not as easy as I thought it would be because RE Investing isn't a traditional business model. I'll download the newest BP book and dive right in!

Hi, I'm a Graphic Designer that is new to BiggerPockets. I'm looking for a mentor in New Haven CT or the CT shoreline area. Anyone out there interested in helping a newbie gain knowledge? I've got extensive experience in DR marketing and web designing. Could be informative for both of us.
