Yes.

VRBO has its own Expanded Distribution Network which includes Expedia Distribution brands, such as:

  • Travelocity
  • CheapTickets
  • Orbitz
  • Expedia
  • Trivago
  • KAYAK
  • Other affiliates that specialize in vacation rentals.

I get < 10% of bookings from VRBO in my markets so this is my experience.

That's so weird that VRBO has its own network and yet we get only a small percentage of bookings from them... Thanks for that info Frank.

 Airbnb brand is strong 💪

Booking.com as a brand doesn't focus on traditional Airbnb/VRBO so I would say no.

We threw it down last week and had a ton of fun off air :)

Why even respond?

Everyone has their own opinion, and going out of your way is a waste of emotional energy. Just make sure the next reviews are 5 stars and it'll get buried.

I'm no expert and would wait for the report, but it could easily cost over $15K if severe.

If you were unaware, depending on the local laws, there is usually a provision in contracts that if the inspection brings something material to your attention, you can either break the contract, ask for a concession or proceed. I've seen a few homes with 'cracks" that were not issues when inspected in person and could be remedied cost-effectively.

Really great story, and glad it popped up. I hope more of us are fortunate to have this type of success and thinking going into acquiring real estate.

Andres -- There is a strong spirit for sharing information, but avoiding saturation is the currency of STRs.

Do your research and make decisions based on that.

Not sure what you mean here. This is general real estate trends, not specific STR market selection.

This is a starting point for most investors, not the end of the market conversation. Saturation, competition, regulations, ToTs, and a laundry list of other factors go in to the buying decision for STRs.

This helps new investors “do their research”.

That’s fine.

The topic and comments made me think otherwise and headed in that direction and wanted to point out for new investors should also consider my point about the unknowns.
