@Brian Gawronski You're welcome! That's what we are here for!
The home in my neighborhood is a homepath. Nice with a pool.

I'm not as knowledgeable but if I were you I would check Hud's website for those higher end homes here in vestavia, Hoover, etc.
I live in Irondale and we have several homes right now in my neighborhood for sale. I bout my home 2 yrs ago at 115k and is now worth 155k. PM and I can send you my neighborhood info.
Also have you considered the southside area?

@Drusilla Hurt @Christy Harris this is definitely the case. Since I've cleaned up my area, I will definitely contact the city because I'm sure of the dealing. They are basically the only house on the street now making it bad

Yes I will do it. I doubt he's a relative. The company that owns the home have several homes in Birmingham in tax sale. It's weird he brought that up instead of the fact that his home is caving in and grass never cut. Also, I'm sure they're squatters. @Denise Evans

I recently purchased a home in Birmingham, Alabama to rent out. I'm currently rehabbing the property. Exterior painting is done. So, there is a house next door that definitely looks abandoned. In fact, my realtor and I were almost sure no one lived there.
The house is in the tax sale which I requested more info to try and purchase the property to maybe rehab myself or turn over to a rehabbed in the Birmingham AL area. We have the 3 yr redemption period here... Ugh
Anyway, so the painter was confronted by someone out of the house next door stating I need to "cut the limbs away from his roof"
Now I definitely don't mind this but I'm just wondering, um,... Where did he come from?
I've tried writing the owners of the property and all mail returns undeliverable.

Hi @Heath Plunkett I'm new to this as well. I'm in Jefferson county and basically there is a 3yr redemption period. I usually drive by and look at properties I am interested in trying the tax sale but you really don't know what's inside.
Also, you would need an attorney or someone knowledgeable because the title could have other leins.
I'm new to this as well so I will keep you updated. If you are looking for a home in Birmingham, they have the landbank now where you can get a clear title if taxes haven't been paid in 6 years.
Hope I helped a little lol
