Chris,

He basically acted as my general contractor,  did or supervised all main floor renos - brand new kitchen & 2 baths, so cabinets, tiles, flooring,  fixtures, etc. He brought in sub-contractors for painting,  plumbing, electrical. We had some things I didn't account for so went over on budget & a week over on time. But otherwise was very well done. I'll send you his details privately.

Hi Chris I just saw this post, have you found someone yet? If not I have a general contractor, he just finished working on my place.

Don't hold anything in Calgary right now. Sold a 4-plex a couple of years ago (was becoming too much of a management headache) so as to buy something else that I could give to a prop manager, found I was priced out of the market. So I've been doing flips to increase my war chest. Then I 'discovered' the US market this year and bought a single family rental there, have been looking into multi-units instead of more singles.

Welcome Jon, good to have you on board. I’m also investing in Calgary right now, looking to get into multi-units but like you the prices are way too high for me to play. So also looking to buy the multi-units in the US (or less expensive cities outside of Calgary). So I’m learning a lot from BP, really happy I found this site. A few local BP members got together a couple of weeks ago in Calgary, just got to know each and where we are in our investing. We plan to continue meeting but next one hasn’t been scheduled yet. Anyhow welcome, and hope you find this site useful.

Welcome Jesse, good to have another Calgarian on board BP. As Steve said most of the material is geared towards the US but this is an awesome site, one can adapt the material and use it anywhere, I’m learning a lot myself. By the way, a few of BP members in Calgary got together a couple of weeks ago or so, a small meetup, just to get to know each other, see what we’re doing and how we can help one another in our local market. It was good, but the next one hasn’t been scheduled yet. Anyhow welcome and good to have you on board.
