I understand the advantages to getting my license but my question is, "Are there any disadvantages in getting your license? Are you held to any other standard or practice that makes you liable?"

Thanks @Tomas Calvino! It's nice to hear from someone who is finding the same issue. I considered textbooks however I was worried about the content and it being more geared towards investment banking. It is definitely an avenue I am going to check out though. Do you mind mentioning the specific book you purchased?

I was wondering if anyone knew of R.E. books that appealed to more seasoned investors? Where they didn't explain what a mortgage is and don't waste their time spelling out the A's B's and C's of real estate. I'm looking for books or material that define the D's E's and F's of real estate. I know the forums right here are a great tool for that however I'm still looking for material I can hold in my hand and study from. Appreciate any input! Thank you for your time.

There is a most recent and "hot" listing of posts for each forum but why is there not an option that allows me to organize it by the month or year for highest responses, most votes, most views. Having that option would allow me to see and learn from really engaged posts with the highest quality knowing that they brought the most attention out of our forum community.

Thank you all for the kind welcomes. Thank you @Kelly O'Quinn for bringing up the meetup, I signed up immediately and am now counting down the days.
Looking forward to seeing you there @Christopher Telles!
Thank you @Brandon Turner, I didn't expect to get your attention with my post. Love the podcasts and all of your work, hopefully one day you guys might be able to have me on the show. I had not seen that post thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I am a nineteen year old in Cypress, California going to school for economics. I found BP about 6 months ago and have fallen in love with it. It presented a new hobby and passion of mine (Real Estate) in which I am now pursuing every day through their podcasts and audio books. BP also gave me the opportunity to get in touch an awesome local seasoned investor, and hopefully more to come!

I'm 19 years old and am looking to apprentice, or intern, a seasoned investor. What are some qualifications or prerequisites that an investor would look for to know that I am worth taking seriously and would make them want to take me under their wing?
