@Bob Collett

Very typical of government. There is already a law in place that they didn't enforce and now they want to put the burden on someone else.

Also to note, there aren't that many lead paint inspectors currently in the Cleveland area and not many certified remidiators. Those lists becomes even shorter when you are talking about the inspectors/contractors that respond or call you back.

The backlog for these inspections next fall and Spring 2021 is going to be so long it could even be funny. Unfortunately, they will probably just mail you your fine and citation. I'm sure they will have that part working like a well oiled machine.

I am not against the idea of making sure the property is "lead safe" but don't like laws for the sake of laws. Enforce those already on the books.

@James Wise

I really appreciate your response post. Just wondering if you have any recommendations for attorney/movers in the Cleveland area to facilitate an eviction. We just bought a duplex recently and I have the feeling we are going to have to do one on an inherited tenant.

I was wondering what the current cap rate for small Multi-family people are seeing in the west Cleveland? 5-12 units in the areas of Old Brooklyn and Clark Fulton?

I actually recently looked in the past year.  There was a bill in the state congress to try to establish this type of entity in Ohio.  Unfortunately it did not make it through to voting so it was tabled.  I contacted both sponsors to see if they planned on reintroducing at the next session.  One of them contacted me but said it was unlikely due to limited support/interest.

Sorry about my poorly worded post. What I was trying to say was what was just posted by Timothy Murphy. What he posted is what I have read on the posts about Cleveland water and sewer.

From my experience, water And sewer, which are separate in Cleveland run about 40-60$ per unit. You always want to keep them in your name from the posts I've read. If the water gets shut off due to non-payment they will not turn it back on until it is paid by the owner of the property & per the landlord tenant law you have to have water or you are not keeping it. James Wise has a good response to this in his posts.

@Patsy Waldron The point of driving for dollars would be a cheaper way to find and mail leads. If I have to pay a service it kind of defeats that purpose. I may use it in the future to have "difficult to find" leads.
