thanks @Brian Eastman,  I get it now. 

can you explain why it would be tricky?  If I use the 401K, I would try to finance the money instead of paying the entire amount, would the loan not be against the property?

I need some advice from BP.

Situation:  I have opportunity to purchase an investment property - around 320K with equity of about 100k.  I have two options;

(1) refinance and take out cash against another house with about 700k equity and use to purchase the house

or

(2) use my solo401k to purchase the property with 20% down and get financing

What is my best option?  What would you do

In my experience, I would not recommend that you let them know, they will use it against you if things don't get done in time or well.  I have held management positions so I know what is said at the management meetings.  Keep your business to yourself

I am a newbie to BP, only a little over 3 months now. I have found the forums very informative and many people willing to share their experiences as well as extremely helpful. In this short time, I have already become a client of one BP member and am looking to become a client of another.
