For many people being violent and defending themselves is not in their nature as they are caring and accepting by heart.

I don't know any professional PM companies that will accept a violent criminal right out of prison so I wonder if he hid his past when originally moving in?

I would focus on determining level of violent crime; murder, rape, aggravated assault, carjacking, Auto theft and the like.

I'm very concerned that at some point I'm going to show up for a viewing with a violent criminal or sexual offender and get hurt.

It's not for no reason, as it is a very violent city, but even the good areas outside of Chicago are still associated with murder-city Chicago.
