The building is in Arizona, and consists of concrete slab/cinder block construction with a comp shingle roof.  

Until the title transfers "able" is not established.Not to be overly blunt, but with your demands and attitude, your license would have been released from esccessny and you would be looking for a new place to hang your shingle if you were in my office.

In the midwest, I am averaging around 400 a square for the shingles to be replaced and in California, I am around 425 a square.To determine a square take the width X length of the house then multiple by two then divide by 100.

I could probably save myself some money because i can do minimal things like hang drywall, tack shingles, hang gutters, landscape etc.

Not home depot, but a local lumber yard, or a supplier that sells siding, shingles, decking, etc.

if not properly vented, it can cause your shingles to prematurely break down or melt, as well a build up moisture which can lead to damage on the actual roof sheeting.

A brand new roof was installed 6 months ago, not just shingles but all the rafters too I believe. 

I'd call a few roofers in the area off of Craigslist and ask them, in general, what they'd charge per square for a basic, asphalt shingle roof.

The storm blew off a bunch of shingles.
