I think there's an element of our culture as westerners (specifically a culture built around more, better, faster) that allows us to play the comparison game, but it doesn't cause our discontentment or our lack of happiness. 

That was a culture shock when my wife and I first moved here and went looking for a place to live.

But if a year or two in you're still doing that, then you need to work on better ways to do business.This website, podcast, and lots of other similar stuff you're likely reading romanticize hustle culture.

I want to be able to travel, inbed myself in some foreign cultures... a deeper look than tourism. 

Due to this grant experiment and our culture, financial systems, rule of law, ect, we have trained vast swaths of our population to think that it is ok to dare greatly, to take risks, and bold strike out on their own with less fear of failure, societal stigma, exclusion from job markets than in most other places and most other time periods.

To get there from here we drive up Gay/Flat Shoals Rd.As culture changes, ordinary words take on different meanings and that sometimes impacts their acceptance.

The culture and cachet you pay for...Right now NYC provides zero.

We do it mostly for Fair Housing reasons like @Matthew Irish-Jones. 

However, over time, I think something got lost in translation during the quest for survival and some have just focussed on self, bringing to fruition the me-me-me culture. 

I would love to get more involved and learn about this culture.
