Another thing, stocks were a way to democratize ownership, they were a way for companies to share in profits so that they could raise capital and then use that money for further value creation... who is buying into apple because they want to own a piece of a company they love, and who inside of apple to using these funds for further research and development.. and then these products are created from this raised capital which then benefit society and the economy... this is not the case.
