Virgil,  A colleague of mine owns a company that buys bad CC debt for about 5 cents on the dollar usually the CC company does have a judgement that comes along with the sale.. then my buddy will monitor these judgements for their experation date ( state specific) but normally 5 years.. and sometimes extend another 5 years but at month 50 or 110 or so they do a search of defaulted CC borrower..
