If you look at it from an employments perspective a college degree at least serves as an indicator that a person is conscientious enough to complete assignments, has an ability to work on a team & follow instruction, and has a baseline level of communication skills.The people who have survived without them are suffering from survivor-ship bias (meaning we aren’t hearing from the people who failed).

I would then open the pic in MS Paint and mark up the their image with arrows and numbers and such, and send it back to them with simple instructions on how to reattach it.
