Exclusivity contracts with a brokerage
What is everyone’s thoughts on a real estate agent requesting that you sign a exclusivity contract with their brokerage?

If you don't sign one, I'm not working for you. I don't get paid unless you purchase/sell something, and I'm not going to work hard for you if there's the risk that I won't get paid in the end. If you're serious, hire the agent.
If you don't want to sign that agreement, offer to pay the agent for their time. They keep track of the time spent working for you and you compensate them with an hourly wage and the freedom to go somewhere else at any time. That should still have a written agreement, though.
