An Airman Seeking Guidance

Nicholas Otero
Posted

Hello everyone!

It's been a minute since I've made post. I just left active duty Air Force a couple of months and I'm still trying to adjust to a much more normal life. I'm hoping for some guidance (possibly mentorship if anyone is willing to help me) when it comes to starting out on my journey. You see, when I was active US. Air Force (for 7 years; currently reservist) I realized I had an addiction, and that addiction was how I was receiving cash, and so (long story short) to break that addiction I knew I had to leave. So I gave up about $3k a month in the military, to learn how to sell by taking a position with T-Mobile haha.  Yeah, I'm crazy but ultimately of course I'm trying to start my own businesses, and I know I need to learn how to sell. The thing is, I'm still very new in sales, and my pay isn't exactly what it use to be. My first paycheck was today actually (the day this post was uploaded) and it was only $680 because I just started. Yeah haha to go from $3k a month to only about possibly $1.2 to $1.5K a month. I know in my heart I'm doing the right thing here, It's just a little difficult especially when you feel like you're alone ya know? Anyways I thank you to anyone who has read this far into my post, and again just seeking a hand in starting out, mentorship if possible, and a few words of encouragement haha

Thank you guys (:

- Nicholas

Quote from @Nicholas Otero:

You need two years of work history to qualify for a loan. Since you went from one career to another, your clock has reset and it will be a while before banks will lend to you.

I recommend you learn about house hacking and Seller financing. You could find a large house in a nice neighborhood and convince the owner to carry the note so banks aren't involved. Rent out the extra rooms to make the payment and create cash flow. After a year, do it with another house while keeping the first one.
