Depreciation within a Self Directed IRA

I'm about to setup a Solo 401K for doing buy and hold deals. With a typical property outside of an IRA, depreciation is used to offset the income from the property. However, since there is no taxable income inside the IRA, is there any reason to use depreciation?

@Todd Magin

You are not able to use depreciation inside an IRA or a Solo 401K, unless the plan borrowed money for the investment.

If you have any other questions, please let me know,

Thank you

Carl
