Prospective tenant wants to do Airbnb arbitrage

Hi everyone! I’m househacking a duplex in Cleveland, Ohio

I’m currently screening tenants for the the bottom half of my duplex.

I have someone interested who does Airbnb arbitrage, meaning they’ll rent it from me at our agreed upon amount and then they’ll rent it out as a short term rental. They would furnish the apartment, provide keyless entry, as well as clean it after each short term tenant leaves. I just don't know if the area I'm in has the demand to make this a profitable venture.

Does anyone have any experience doing this? What are the risks with this? What kind of information would you ask for from the prospective applicant wanting to do this?

Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

This is asked constantly and 97.2% of us believe it's a bad idea. For more details, do a search for "airbnb arbitrage" and you'll find plenty of discussions.
