Major Williams

I’m major and looking to start investing in real estate.  We are currently working to flip homes to build capital to invest in multifamily properties.

@Major Williams

Welcome to BP!

Start by learning as much as you can and working as an agent will give you lot of experience and knowledge.

Join real estate investment clubs.

Have clear investment goals.

Understand the local market and potential growth aspects.

Get in touch with a local agent or investor and shorten your learning curve and save you a lot of headaches as they tend to understand the market better.

All the best!

I am interested to learn as much as I can.  I'm not sure I even know what "passive investment RE strategies" means.

Hi @Major Williams! Though most people don't take this path quickly, I recommend getting into commercial real estate as soon as you can. There are many more opportunities to scale your investment business in all types of commercial real estate including self storage, mobile home parks, RV parks, large multifamily, industrial and more. If this is of interest to you, check out the last 1/3 of my BP book self storage. In this section of the book I detail 7 different paths to get into commercial real estate investing. Good luck and welcome to BP!

Hi @Paul Moore,  I guess my biggest unknow would be how to raise the capital for the larger properties.  We have considered apartments and storage units.  IF you don't mind can you elaborate on why you feel commercial is the way to go?
