Unhealthy obsession with buzz words like Seed capital

Is it just me, or has the Real Estate Market, nay all current modern markets, been taken over by constant overuse of buzzwords made popular by the millenial "Startup" generation? Is it just the industry jargon of the day? Or is it something brought on by the rising popularity of Social Media? It seems, everywhere I look I can see seed capital described in the forums. Unicorns, Boot-strapping, Decks. This infectious jargon seems to be jumping into every market these days. What do you think?

Id vote industry jargon of the day, combined with millenials trying to make fancy-schmancy financial concepts/nouns "hip" so they can be more understandable to the general public

just LOL @ how dumb most "startups" arte

i am certainly not a millenial by any standards, and I love the seed capital phrasing, (Though I admit I'm a bit bias towards it!) I think industry jargon is important in creating  a sense of identity among members of a given industry. Yes, I agree many startups are not well thought out, but many of the failures do get re-rolled into successful ideas after a few tries to the contrary.

Go buzz words! I love industry jargon, especially seed capital, as it's both a practical metaphor and a catchy phrase.  I can discuss with like minded professional in a  way only we truly understand. Gives the field some prestige.

Jargon is what makes an industry; an industry. This is a pretty good link about how industry jargon can get out of hand - https://adequateman.deadspin.com/which-industry-has-the-worst-jargon-1822423550

I guess the real estate industry really ins't all that full of jargon and buzz words. Nothing holds a candle to the finance industry!

big vote for jargon here as well. I feel it defines an industry among professionals. Only when it begins to interfere with ease of business and communications, is when it needs a rest.

I made peace with buzz words. Without them, where would we be with SEO?
