I've been watching Prineville in particular for over a year.  Was ready to finally make my first newbie move than next thing I knew every listed duplex in my $ range is "pending".  According to Trulia.  Not going to give up but will need a true rock star agent and finance wizard.

I dont really know what to make of the local market. New homes and used homes are so closely priced that I wonder if we arent going to see a big correction here soon.

Not sure if you're aware, but FACEBOOK is expanding their data center and will employ an additional 100 employees there. That's why the demand for housing is going up. 

Redmond is just a few minutes from Bend. It's a beautiful area, with a traditional downtown main street. I've never been out to Prineville, but hear it's a quaint little town. 

Once you get to Bend, there aren't as many trees, that's why I love the area of Sunriver. Redmond has its own high desert appeal. All have beautiful views of the mountains that surround us.

Welcome to Central Oregon!  I just purchased my first duplex in Madras, and it has been quite a ride!  I'm a bit of a newbie, and we're out here in the desert, so it's great to see others from the area on this thread!
