Tax advantage of my own property management company

Okey Anebere
Posted

I am researching the tax advantages of started my own property management company to manage my rentals. My current plan is to create it as a LLC taxed as a S-corp and pay the company a management fee to manage my long term rentals. Is anyone doing anything like this? If so what tax advantages or disadvantages have you seen? I am trying to understand the cost vs benefit. Thank you in advance for your input.

I'm not a CPA, but there could be some tax benefits. First, the fees paid to a property manager can be tax deductible. Second, the business expenses can be tax deductible. I know my property management company has a lot of tax benefits, but there are a lot of variables involved.

I don't know enough about your situation or tax law to give you an answer, but I would say it's worth talking to a CPA because it may have some advantages for you.
