Post: New book for a Newbie

Hello all,

I'm not particularly new to BP and its vast knowledge in which I'm still trying to soak in (after almost 2 years off and on BP).  My question is, what is a good book for guy like myself to read first? I have read Rich dad Poor dad which was a great book but it didn't have the depth I was looking for.

I'm looking for something that explains REI for someone brand spanking new to the REI business and goes from there. Sorry if this post is all over the place.

Look forward to hearing from you guys.

Thanks @Mark Ferguson it would be great if I could pick your brain on real estate in the area. If you didn't mind.

Hi everyone, I don't think there are very many or any investors in the Wyoming area but I'm hoping there might be a few. Basically I was hoping to start networking with people in Wyoming and Colorado. I'm trying to get my head around the business called Real Estate and the more people I could talk to who are in the area the better. I know I'm very green in REI and I know little if anything about the ins and outs of the business.

My starting out goal is to get a VA loan and purchase a 2,3 or 4 plex in the area. I would live in one unit and rent out the others. I'm also intrigued by whole selling but not sure how to find good deals, honestly I wouldn't know a good deal if it was standing on my head. Sorry for the long winded intro but I do hope to hear from you all.

Thanks Tom Goans I will definitely try to get in contact with them. I'm sure they have valuable information. And hopefully take me under their wing.

Thanks Kevin Tran I'm definitely going to go to the family readiness center this week. I'm very excited about getting my first property and hopefully it will be my first of many.

Thanks Matt Devincenzo for the abs dance of information. I'm almost at information overload but I'm sure it will all sink in the more I participate on this site. With the VA loan I'm a little nervous Bc I really don't have that much credit and i have a student loan looming over me.

Thanks Andres Piedra I do plan on moving into the home and or duplex when my contract is up on our on base home. Are there any requirements that I need I meet to get a Va loan?
