Post: Replacing Tub Faucet

I need to replace a broken diverter tub faucet. I've not done much plumbing before, but I unscrewed the old one and took it to Home Depot thinking I could just find a replacement to screw back on. Well, it's not as easy as I though because everything is for 1/2" or 3/4" pipes, but the old one screwed onto a 1 1/4" adapter that's attached to the end of the pipe.

Does anyone know where I can get a diverter tub faucet that will fit? The big box stores don't seem to have ones that will. Or do I need to figure out how to remove the 1 1/4" adapter to get down to a standard 1/2" pipe? I think it's sweated on.

Great article @Joshua Dorkin ! I bet it feels great to be getting some recognition for all the work you've done putting BiggerPockets together.

Doesn't seem right for the realtor to expect a commission on a sale he wasn't involved in, just because he thought he would be. I thought I was going to get paid for doing work in the future at my old job. But then the company went bankrupt, and I didn't. So goes life. Is it worth paying to save the relationship? Maybe, but I'd have a hard time convincing myself it is if it was me.

I'd make sure to be clear in the future that IF you list the house with a realtor you plan to use him, but it isn't a guarantee that you will.

Seems unusual to flat out ban new single family rentals. I used to live in Cedar falls. It's a college town so there are a lot of rentals, but banning new ones won't fix anything. It'd probably make the existing ones worse as college students try to fit more people into the same number of rentals. I think there's a legal limit to the number of unrelated people in a rental there but students don't care about following that.

Good article @Tyler Smiarowski , I haven't used signs before but have wondered what the rules for them in Cedar Rapids is.
