@Joe Norman

You know the thing is you can normally get it done pretty cheap. Try some local colleges where kids are doing videogrpghy.

Also you can always through it up on Elance or Craigslist.

@Joe Norman

 Great question and to be honest with you I am not a videographer, however I do have photographers and videographers that I work with at many of my flips. I sent them your question and below is his response….

“The New Build shoot was comprised of a DSLR for pictures and video, accompanied by several GoPros. We attached one to the machine, one to the dumpster and one out in front of the house. We typically recird video on action shots but we shoot time lapse pictures for lengthier shots. In other words, the GoPro on the machine and the dumpster were shooting at 1080p 60 fps but the one in the front yard was shooting time lapse wide angle 10mp pictures every 2 seconds.

The other thing to remember when taking pictures with a GoPro is that the picture dimensions are significantly larger than the video (1920x1080) so you have quite a bit of wiggle room if you want to zoom your time lapse pictures while they are playing.

Depending on the length of the shoot this can easily amount to 5-10k pictures. I use Final Cut Pro X to do all my editing and I make each picture 1 frame and then speed it up accordingly.

It is very important to have a handheld camera at these shoots as well. GoPro’s are great but they can’t get the detail shots you’ll want. I use a monopod not only to make my shots stabile, but I use it to give me a higher vantage point when it is needed.

Andrew and I recently purchased a Quad Copter to get a little better angle as well as a good idea of what the surrounding neighborhood looks like from above.

Once our videos are shot we use Final Cut Pro X to edit it all together. Another huge step is color correction. You don’t want your videos to be boring or bland. If you have any specific questions about editing, feel free to ask.”

@Steve Babiak Thanks for the tag!

@Joe Norman

  Yes I have done many timelapse videos for my rehabs and new builds.

Is this what you are trying to do?

Or here is one we just recently did on a new build in ATL.

If you are looking for stuff like this yeah I can help direct you in the right way. Just let me know.

@Kamia Atkinson

Hello Bigger Pockets newest member!

I just wanted to take a moment and say hello as I also am an Atlanta-area investor. I live on the north-end of Atlanta but do most of my investing inside the city-perimeter. There are a couple good REIA's here in Atlanta that I would recommend you consider joining if you are not already a member. There are also some really good Atlanta-area investors on Bigger Pockets.

Here are a few tips for Bigger Pockets so you can get the most out of it:

Be sure to set up “keywords" for whatever type of investing you’re interested in with "Atlanta” obviously being the primary keyword.

Secondly, I try to read at least a blog per day, as well as listen to one podcast per week.

Lastly, try to get involved in the Bigger Pockets community. Don't be timid - share advice and ask questions!

Good luck. I hope to see you around Bigger Pockets as well as in the Atlanta-area market. I’m here if you have any questions!

Professional regards -

Andrew

@Mehdi El H

Hello "BP Newbie" and welcome to Bigger Pockets.

In the meantime here are 7 tips to help you grow your business using BP:

1. New to BP?

2. Develop your own business strategy. -- Don’t just be a “jack-of-all-trades"

3. Grow your business by developing your business plan. - Remember there is a difference between goals and a plan.

4. Locate and attend several different local REIAs as they’re great opportunities to network and meet wholesalers, lenders, and contractors.

5. Stay away from the “guru” sales-pitch events - they rarely increase your investment knowledge, they merely empty your wallet!

6. Spend 30 minutes a day on Bigger Pockets by connecting with “colleagues,” perusing blogs and videos, and engaging with others on the forums:

7. Set yourself up to receive free alerts to be notified of subjects that interest you:
