@Mike Lin, if you do that your property will fall under rent control.  You don't want that.  You can still build-out an in-law for that extra rental income.

We just add an addendum to the lease to extend the lease period.

Hello Huntsville investors, do you think new construction homes in Harvest and Toney will meet the 1% rule?  Also, what do you think about these areas as investments? Will the value hold, appreciate, or depreciate?  Thanks for your comments!

Hey BP,

I'm an OOS investor, and like to get a local investors opinion on investing outside of Huntsville in new homes in Toney and/or Harvest areas.  It seems a bit far from Huntsville but what to you locals think?  Thanks!

@David Serna,  I'm not from SA, so I don't know which areas are near the military bases. Can you share which zip codes or other identifying areas for an OOS investor that's near the military bases?  Thanks for sharing!
