@Ben Skove I don't think I would have ever thought to use IFTTT for something like this. Pretty smart thinking, even it it doesn't work all that well. 

At one point in time, when AirBnB started, you could reverse engineer the craigslist URLs and basically create an auto generated email back to the poster with your information. Not sure if it can still be done.

@James Tabush I'm putting together a business plan with @Dan C. and we use basically using this post http://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing... and then adding our information in. I add info and then Dan add info and we keep iterating and build out the plan. Good luck!

Kyle Sinclair I've heard that managing it yourself if the best method to start. It will allow you to learn the business of property management and I turn allow you to pick a good property manager when the time comes. How would you know what a property mgr should do unless you have been there yourself? Doing so will also let you decide if you even like managing your properties or not. Maybe you're great at tenant mgmt and maybe your not. At least you will know on you own terms. Good luck!

Scott Trench I agree with those that stated the podcasts were the moment. Hell, I've only been on here for 11 days and have listened to about 20 podcasts. They are the way I'm learning right now. I'd be lost without them.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice. We are working on our business plan to define and set the details and objectives. I got a good start together today. It will take time but it's important to do. It's going to be a journey but I'm ready to take this step and learn an industry that I know very little about.

I'm not a big uptown guy, but if I was renting I would look for...

Dog friendly. Useful windows. Parking. Closet size. Washer dryer in unit or al teast very close.

Nice part about your lacation is that its close to everything!!!!
