Rather than quoting the UAW for your topic title, it may help discourse to re-state that as a question specific to the impacts on the market.

@Alodie Barrone what sort of questions did you have? Search works, but we've got a new prototype that I'd like to try. It doesn't have an interface yet.

My biggest take aways from having done FPU about ten years ago:
* have an emergency fund (6+mo)
* don't carry a balance on a credit card
* invest in index funds rather than individual stocks
The rest of his advice (debt snowball, money envelopes, avoid all debt, etc) I think is good but not for me.

Quote from @Nikita Sharma:
Hello,
I purchased my first property recently.
In the closing costs, I prepaid for 1 year of property insurance.
In this case, I would assume I would not be paying monthly insurance premium for the first year, because, I have prepaid one year.
However looking at my upcoming monthly payment, it looks like the insurance premium is still included. Why? Am I not double paying in this case?
Did you prepay both PMI (assuming you have it) and home owners' insurance?
