What are the liabilities of doing this; robberies, squatting, etc.? Anyone experience negative repurcussions doing this? What are the upsides assuming you're already on the major platforms?

I've been getting cancellations daily and just had my July 4th cancelled a day before check-in (was supposed to check in today). Luckily they chose the "No refund" option, which gives them a further discount but allows no refund. Most don't chose this option so I've had to provide 100% refunds since I relaxed my cancellation policy to stay competitive.

If you do it on ABB, the host will see you're also a host and can see your current listings, so it pretty much gives you away. Unless you use a second account that is not linked to your listings. I pretty much get all I need to know from my competitor's listings, pricings, calendar, pics, etc.

This request just happened. The guest booked a 2-night stay, which I rarely enable but we had a 3 night gap between bookings, and booked it during the week (monday and tuesday nights), which is the lower priced nights, and acted all entitled that they wanted to get more than a whole beach day so they requested an early check-in AND late checkout. I told them no since the current guest checks out the same day they arrive and that a new guest checks in the day after they leave. I could've given them a late checkout but the whole entitlement attitude turned me off.

Normally I accommodate these requests but make it clear that it's a give on my end so hopefully they remember when leaving a review. I don't explicitly state a quid pro quo as this is not allowed.

Wouldn't be surprised if the State steps in to mitigate this cluster, and I really don't blame those for cancelling

Another one. Down almost $20k for what was looking like a good month.

I'm not debating the merits of the virus, just if others are being impacted. Fortunately or Unfortunately it looks like it's just me.

Another one:

Good morning, we are sad to have to cancel our trip but my brother, who works for the government, was not released to travel here. We are hoping to book your beautiful home at a later time. Thank you for working with me and answering all my questions.

I'd expect areas like yours to actually benefit during these times. The folks that cancel in hot spots like mine still want to vacation and will probably pick a destination like  yours.

So it looks like the second wave of the virus is picking up throughout the US with certains states getting hit harder than others.

Over the last couple days I've had two cancellations, and a handful more inquiries change their destinations due to the record daily peaks here in Florida. Is anyone else experiencing the same?
