@Matthew Trotter Yup, that's them. And yes, I can confirm that they're still meeting regularly.

It's definitely gotten more expensive in the last 2-3 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some deals left. There are a couple of private schools in the area, and it's near the airport, which may attract some decent tenants as well.

REIA had several before the shutdown. But I'd be interested in another meetup for sure.

I have read BLM’s public mission statement and note a goal of theirs is the dismantling of the nuclear family. From my understanding, the damage to the nuclear family over 50 years has devastated black communities to where they are worse off than pre civil rights era. Read Thomas Sowell.
John Farady, I applaud your compassion and true investment in a struggling community. That takes real effort and makes a real difference. I would like to see BP members making commitments to follow your lead rather than give money to a NFP that works against their interests.
I know I said I won't be back, but here I am! :)
If you're going to talk about something with such confidence, you really need to educate yourself, man.
The BLM organization and the Black Lives Matter movements are two different things.
He mentioned that he's going to donate some of his profit to benefit a Black ORGANIZATION, in keeping with the Black Lives Matter MOVEMENT. That's because in his mind, Black lives matter too. Since the organization and the movement are two different thing, he can donate to the UNCF, NAACP, NAN, or any local organization in his community aimed at helping Black youth and still support the movement. Either way, I'm sure this grown man has researched the organizations he's most interested in and is clear on their stance.
I'll bet money that if he'd have said he wanted to support women or some other marginalized group, this topic wouldn't have ruffled any feathers. It's just the Black part that y'all don't like!
OK, I'm gone for real this time. I made the mistake of not unchecking the 'Notify me when someone replies" box last time, so I'll be sure to uncheck it this time.

There's something wrong with some of you. This man never once said he was making a donation to Black Lives Matter, and he never disparaged anyone who doesn't agree. It's as if you're making yourselves feel bad about not participating in something that's entirely up to you! One user even says this below:
"...nothing creates more emotion in someone then telling them they are not as virtuous as you because you have an honest disagreement,"
So weird. Never once did the original poster tell anyone they're not virtuous. Where did you get that from? Your own heart? Watch out--you're telling on yourself!
I've seen some really anti-Black posts on here in the past, and the sad thing about it is, I wasn't shocked to see how much support it got. At least his post is somewhat related to REI---this post, for instance, has absolutely nothing to do with real estate and just look at how much support it received. Yes I already know it's from years ago, but it's just a testament to the kinds of people that are actively and openly anti-Black on here. And then people wonder why we can't stop "talking about race" or "playing the race card." Clearly that's the cards we continue to be dealt!
Please don't bother @ mentioning me. I won't respond :D

@Kyle J. No, we agree on that.
If someone signed up to do the work, then that's part of the agreement, and they should handle it. I'm just saying that the idea of having a tenant work on YOUR yard is not cool to me. I'm saying that I personally would not add that to my leasing agreement to start with. They shouldn't be doing anything to my home except live in it.

Good stuff. This way sounds like it can shield you from so much doggone competition for the same properties.
Thank you for the tip!
