Hi all, I'm a local real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty, servicing most parts of Pittsburgh and most of the South Hills area.

I bought a house in Homestead about 5 months ago and grew up minutes from there in West Mifflin and seeing the transformation on 8th ave in the commercial district is amazing.

My grandfather used to work in the steel mill where the sprawling waterfront shopping center is now.  He's a big reason I chose to live in and really came to love homestead.  He helped build America here.  The history that i walk around on everyday is just amazing and it must be remembered and not gone to waste.  After the steel mill hunkies vacated it turned to a steady decline.  Now we have hit revitilization and in my estimation are in the beginning stages of growth.

I think it's my duty to continue to develop and help this area in whatever way I can.

Hey all,

I've been pondering the best way to keep organized as an investor and agent.  I have a small portfolio myself and have recently picked up speed with clients.  I'm looking for the best ways you guys have found to stay organized.  Right now I use my calendar to no end on my phone, email myself, evernote to a much much lesser extent than I should probably and I have a small binder that tracks paperwork.  I'd much rather be digital than paper form.  Suggestions on equipment?  I figure a scanner is important so which ones do you guys find to be good?  The one I have now is one page at a time.  I very rarely make it in to the office.  Thanks all.  Cheers

Hi Athena, time is the most important aspect to anything.  To save yourself some of this, screen the tenants over the phone if you haven't already.  This will save you from showing the place to tirekickers.

Cheers, godspeed.

Hi guys, I'm a born and raised Pittsburgh boy.  I've been involved with investing for 2 years and I have my license with Keller Williams.  I think Pittsburgh has great opportunities for rehab and sell and buy and hold.  I myself am a buy and hold investor in the south in Homestead and Munhall.

There are lots of older buildings (and people) here which makes it great for both finding deals and rehabbing.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Cheers

The best thing to do to get info on meetings is to join the Pittsburgh real estate investors group on Facebook and meetup.com

You'll find most groups posting meeting dates there.

I regularly attend the meetup in white oak. The closest one to you might be the REIA group which is in the north hills.

Hi Jason, I'm a real estate investor/agent (Keller Williams) out of Pittsburgh.  I purchase buy and holds in the south Allegheny area, my biggest target area being homestead/Munhall.  You just missed a meetup yesterday but there are many more to come through various groups. Welcome to BP

Hi all, I inquired about whole life insurance as another means of investment.  I'm curious if anyone here can share their personal story about successes or failures with whole life insurance?

Thank you
