Hi Jonathan. Welcome to BP! Your goals sound detailed and awesome! Check out fixated on real estate in Seattle with Tarl Yarber. He has monthly meetings/educational programs. I have learned so much from him and his group. They are on FB, meet up and here on BP. Good luck! Christine

I shop at HD and Lowe's, along with a local plumbing store, Amazon, habitat for humanity and an amazing store in Portland called The ReBuilding center. I got a cart full of floor/ceiling registers, shower heads, hinges, etc for 20 bucks! I could spend hours and hours there.

Hi Sarah,

I'm not sure I'd just sit on the sidelines and wait for the market to "get better."  I found 2 properties off market in Camas and Vancouver and the numbers work!  You just have to do your homework and figure out how to find a distressed property.  DVD, yellow letters, craigslist, etc.  I'm happy to help if I can!

Hi Sunny, Hello! I don't have any recommendations for you but I do know that realtors usually have a list of contractors they like to use. I'm in the middle of a rehab and it's been hard to find people, that's for sure. Good luck! Christine

Hi Joseph, I am also an RN! I wonder how many of us are here... I didn't think I was good at talking to people but apparently all my years of nursing have helped! I still work full time and have a 5 year plan. It's nice to see someone with a similar background be successful in RE. I am an investor and now have 6 doors. I just purchased a duplex and sfh. The others were properties that we lived in at some point. We are in the rehab portion and I'm learning a ton! Good luck to you! Christine

Hi Greg, I don't have a solid answer for you, but I opened up a mailbox with a physical address for all of my business mailings. It's inexpensive and gives me an address that looks "real." I am also in Vancouver and would love to connect. I tried to send you a message you but your settings are private. Thanks! Christine
