Welcome @Dylan Henke!  Lots of information here... I'm trying to process it all myself!

Good luck!  Remember that OTC stocks don't have the same reporting requirements as listed stocks so you have to hope the company is reporting revenue and earnings that are true.  Invest with knowledge :)

@Ron Ahmed   Welcome to the site!  Be careful trading illiquid stocks though...you will lose money doing so.

I use Quick Books for my job and I thought it was pretty easy to learn.  Community colleges have classes on how to use it.

I haven't used it for REI yet but I'm thinking that's what I will be using. I'm not sure how you can avoid the double entry accounting method. Why is it you want to avoid that? Quickbooks has an online option and does what you want a software to do.

There isn't anything I know of that's completely automatic as you will have to make sure the income/expenses go into the right accounts and importing from your bank can cause errors that you will have to correct.

1992 Camry with 211k miles.  Bought it in 1998 and have been driving it ever since.  Does anyone have an older car?  I keep wanting to buy another car but can't justify it because it runs so well.

@Dawn Anastasi   Thanks for the welcome!  My sister lives near Milwaukee in Hartford.  I don't get down there much though.

@Jon Huber   Thanks,  I agree, the education is priceless.  There are so many good books available and I read quite a bit.

@Jeremy Tillotson   Quick question for you...my county forestry dept says the minimum bid can't be below appraisal value on a tax deed auction.  Is that just something they put to discourage lower bids?  It says they will be rejected if lower than appraisal value.  I'm not considering this type of investing right now because I don't know enough about it but I'm still curious about it.  It also said the only way to be notified about the sales is to get on a mailing list they send out once a year.  If there are more sales throughout the year, we have to see them in the paper.

@Derek Dombeck   Oh, I misunderstood what you meant.  I thought you said you invest where I live.

Not sure if population <1000 would provide enough potential tenants.  I'm still trying to figure that out.  But yeah, like you said, Appleton is more active and where I would want to invest if I'm going to hold long term.
